At the heart of the Christian hope is not an event, but a Person. Jesus has promised to return, and to usher in a new heaven and new earth where everything will be made new and right. In 1 Thessalonians, Paul reminds us that this hope anchors us through suffering, fuels our pursuit of holiness, deepens our love for one another, and gives us courage to remain faithful until He returns.
