Thankfully the defeat at the city of Ai described in the previous chapter is not the end of the story. In keeping with His character, God keeps His promise to the nation of Israel, and the follow up battle goes much better! It reminds us of many spiritual truths about who God is and how He relates to His people; not just back then, but today as well.
