Jesus Holds the Key (Christmas Eve Service)

December 23, 2021 | Paul Duppenthaler

Have you ever been locked out or excluded? When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they were locked out. Since then, every person has sinned and we are disqualified from being in God's presence in heaven. But there is hope! There is someone who holds the key, who unlocks the gates of heaven, who rescues us from the just consequences of our sin. Jesus is said to hold the Key of David. On Christmas Eve, we will find out what this means and how it is a great reason to Celebrate the Birthday of Jesus!

Jesus Holds the Key

Revelation 3:7-13 NIV

  1. IN THE BEGINNING: MANKIND WAS  OF PARADISE.

Genesis 3:23–24 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

  1. JESUS HOLDS  TO GET BACK IN.

Revelation 3:7–8 To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.

Isaiah 22:22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

  1. JESUS IS ; THERE IS NO OTHER WAY IN.

Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

  1. WHEN JESUS DIED, : THE CURTAIN WAS RENT IN TWAIN.

Matthew 27:50–51 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split

Exodus 26:1 Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by a skilled worker.

  1. THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS, WE ARE  TO PARADISE.

Rev. 22:12–14 Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.

  1. IN JESUS, WE CAN ENTER INTO  EVEN TODAY.

Hebrews 10:19–22a, 25 NLT And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him.   And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Jesus, thank you for your love and thank you for dying on a cross to make it possible for me to be forgiven and welcomed into Your eternal kingdom of heaven. Today, I ask you to
