Put On Your New Clothes

Ephesians 4:22-5:2 

YOUR B.C. SELF NO LONGER HAS OVER YOU.

Eph 4:22-24 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self,
which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

 FOUR SPECIFIC WAYS TO THROW OFF THE OLD AND PUT ON THE NEW.

1. PUT OFF FALSEHOOD AND .

Eph 4:25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

2.TAKE OFF YOUR ANGRY EYES AND .

Eph 4:26-27, 31 "In your anger do not sin" Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

3. THROW OFF YOUR GREED AND .

Eph 4:28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.

4.  THAT BUILD OTHERS UP.

Eph 4:29-30 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

 THREE WAYS JESUS MOTIVATES ME TO PUT ON MY NEW SELF.

1. I AM MOTIVATED TO FORGIVE BECAUSE I’VE BEEN .

Eph 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

2. I AM MOTIVATED BY THE  JESUS SHOWED ME ON THE CROSS.

Eph 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love,
just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

 3. JESUS HAS GIVEN ME !

Romans 13:14 Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ,
and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

 Start EACH day with a pledge to god.

            Ps. 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

“God, today, I’m going to live for you. I hope you’re watching because I’m throwing off

my old self and putting on my new self. Today, I’m the new me. Help me do it well.”
