The Ministry of Reconciliation

Series: Rooted Together - Experiencing Community in Christ

The Ministry of Reconciliation

November 02, 2025 | Mike Matousek

As Christians, we have one main purpose, says Paul, which is to serve as ambassadors of God, attempting to persuade people to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. This passage is a blunt and compelling description of the "good news" of Christian faith, as well as a call to all that are in Christ to live "as if God is making his appeal through us."

Series Information

Second Corinthians bears witness to the authentic community between the Apostle Paul and the church in Corinth and it isn’t always pretty. There are tense moments, past hurts, and challenges for continued growth. It is also undeniable how much Paul loves and cares for this community and wants to see them rooted together as believers focused on Christ. From his own trials and troubles, Paul shows how in our weakness, God’s strength, power, comfort, and hope are on full display. As we study this letter together, we are called to actively take part in the community God has brought together here and now at Countryside.
