Blessed Assurance (Eternity Changes Everything)

November 14, 2021 | Paul Duppenthaler

Blessed Assurance! When you KNOW that you will certainly inherit eternal life in the new heavens and earth, it changes everything. You can endure hardships better, you be bold and risk living 100% for the Lord more readily, and you can live without fear, because you know the end of your story is a great one! Unfortunately, many Christians don't have that blessed assurance. They aren't convinced God will still love them after they've made too many mistakes. Or even worse, there are religious people who aren't saved but are convinced they'll spend eternity in glory. Today's sermon will clear up what the Bible says about this important truth.

Blessed Assurance

John 6:37-40

  1. TRUST JESUS’ PROMISES: HE  TRUE BELIEVER.

John 6:39–40 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

  1. GOD IS FAITHFUL: WHAT HE BEGINS, .

1 Cor 1:8-9 He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

  1. FALSE ASSURANCE: NOT ALL WHO  ARE SAVED.

Matthew 7:21–23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

  1. TRUE BELIEVERS WILL BE   TO  TO THE END.

Jeremiah 32:38–41 They will be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.

  1. HOW CAN WE REALLY KNOW WE’RE SAVED?

1 John 5:11–1 God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Does the  give you peace in your spirit?

Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Is there  in your life?

Matthew 12:33 Make a tree good and its fruit will be good,
or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.

  1. ASSURANCE OF  CHANGES EVERYTHING.

2 Corinthians 3:12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it;
Prone to leave the God I love—
Take my heart, oh, take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above!
