More Than Conquerors!

November 08, 2020

When you know the outcome of the race, you can live through some setbacks and stumbles along the way. Revelation is a book to the Church intended to remind us that in the end, we win... that we are "More Than Conquerors" through Jesus. Suffering has a good purpose, death is a graduation to something great, and we have a glorious eternity promised to us!

More Than Conquerors!

Romans 8:37 …we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

  1. THE CHRISTIAN LIFE ON EARTH HAS  .

Phil. 1:21–24 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

  1. THE INTERMEDIATE STATE IS   IN HEAVEN.

Rev. 14:13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

-The souls of believers go immediately into God’s presence… (not “soul sleep”)

Lk. 23:43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

-Death isn’t a punishment for Christians, it’s a graduation to eternal life.

Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Revelation 2:10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

-God has your graduation day planned, so be bold without fear!

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Acts 20:24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

  1. RESURRECTED LIFE WITH THE LORD WILL BE  !

1 Thessalonians 4:16–18 The Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

-Our transformation and glorification will be completed at His second coming.

2 Cor. 3:18 NLT All of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord, who is the Spirit, makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known.
But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

-The sting of death has been destroyed by this Good News!

1 Cor 15:54–55 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

Series Information

In one sense, the whole Bible is apocalyptic! It is God's revelation of Himself and His Big Story! As we live through "apocalyptic" times, we need to know where we are in the Story, how can we thrive in it, and why we shouldn't be anxious about it.
