We Are The Family Of God

Matthew 12:46-50 NIV

AN   BY MARY.

Matthew 12:46–47 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”

A   FOR ALL.

Matthew 12:48–50 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”
Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

  1. OUR SPIRITUAL FAMILY IS   AND IT’S  .

Mark 10:28–30 Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!” “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age:homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.”

We are one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:26–29 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

  1. MARY IS A GREAT MOTHER   (but not venerate!)

          Mary prayed constantly.

Acts 1:12-14 Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. When they arrived, they (all but Thomas) went upstairs to the room where they were staying…. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

  1. GOD BLESSES US WHEN WE  .

Eph 6:2–3 “Honor your father and mother” -which is the first commandment with a promise- "
so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

-We glorify Jesus when we honor our mothers.

Matthew 15:3–4 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God
for the sake of your tradition? For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother…’

-Jesus calls us His brothers and sisters when we do the will of His Father.

Heb 2:11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
