Judgment Day

Judgment Day

September 26, 2021 | Paul Duppenthaler

When Jesus comes back, He's going to perfectly reward good with good, and evil with evil. In Christ, we can rejoice that by grace we will be blessed with a glorious future. Jesus will be glorified, justice and mercy will be magnified as He separates the sheep from the goats. This is a very motivational message from Jesus that is so relevant for us today!

Judgment Day

Matthew 25:31-46

  1. THE  OF JESUS WILL BE SEEN.

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.

  1. KING JESUS WILL JUDGE .

Matthew 25:32-34  All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

A great demonstration of GRACE!!!

1. You are blessed by the Father.  The Father chose you.
2. Your eternal inheritance is a gift.  It’s an undeserved favor, not an earned wage.
3. Your future was prepared for you in advance.

  1. GOOD WORKS PROVE THE  OF GOD’S CHILDREN.

Matthew 25:35–40 ‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you…?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

“Justification is by faith alone. Works play no part in salvation; however, justification is not by a faith that is alone; it is not by a mere profession of faith. Anyone who possesses saving faith immediately begins to do good works. We are not justified by our works in any way whatsoever, but we are justified to good works. Thus, the ultimate test by which we will be determined to be in Christ or not is the presence or absence of faith. On the last day, our professions of faith will be judged by the works we have performed.” -RC Sproul

  1. A LACK OF RIGHTEOUSNESS EXPOSES THE STATE OF .

Matthew 25:41–46 Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat…’  They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty…and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

A word about heavenly rewards: It will be no damp to the happiness of those who have lower degrees of happiness and glory, that there are others advanced in glory above them. For all shall be perfectly happy, everyone shall be perfectly satisfied. Every vessel that is cast into this ocean of happiness is full, though there are some vessels far larger than others.” —Jonathan Edwards, 1740

1. Sin in this fallen world won’t last forever.
2. Through faith in Jesus, we are saved forever, and changed for the better now.
3. We are accountable in this life, motivated to good works out of gratitude, primarily.

Series Information

In our continued study of Gospel of Matthew, we see how God’s promises in the Hebrew Scriptures to bring salvation to his people Israel and to the whole world are being fulfilled with the coming of Jesus the Messiah. Our response to this joyful news should be to go into all the world and make disciples of Jesus the Messiah.
