Series: The Gospel of Matthew
Watching and Waiting
September 19, 2021 | Paul Duppenthaler
As Jesus ascended to heaven, the disciples stared in awe. Two angels said in Acts 1:11 "Men of Galilee, they said, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." Ever since then, the church has watched and waited for His return with great anticipation. Jesus never told us when He would come back, but we are 2000 years closer to the Day than the disciples were. In fact, by all indications, it seems very realistic to think His 2nd coming could very well be imminent. Today's sermon talks about what to look for and how to prepare for this awe-inspiring event.

Series Information
In our continued study of Gospel of Matthew, we see how God’s promises in the Hebrew Scriptures to bring salvation to his people Israel and to the whole world are being fulfilled with the coming of Jesus the Messiah. Our response to this joyful news should be to go into all the world and make disciples of Jesus the Messiah.
