Series: The Gospel of Matthew
Miracles As Signs
March 07, 2021 | Paul Duppenthaler
Miracles in the Bible are often very misunderstood. Some take them to be the normal experience of Christians who pray hard enough, sincerely enough, with enough people... and then they are disappointed or angry with God when parallel miracles don't happen to them. Miracles cannot be altogether ruled out for today, but the purpose of miracles in the Bible isn't to show us what we can expect in this life when we trust in Christ. They point to WHY we should be excited to trust in Christ. Miracles in the Bible are often called signs... signs that point to Jesus; to His nature, identity and mission. Series Information
In our continued study of Gospel of Matthew, we see how God’s promises in the Hebrew Scriptures to bring salvation to his people Israel and to the whole world are being fulfilled with the coming of Jesus the Messiah. Our response to this joyful news should be to go into all the world and make disciples of Jesus the Messiah.
